A List Maker's Life: Not Alone

Not Alone

This past weekend I attended the  Spina Bifida Organization's National Conference. There is much I could {and may eventually} write about this amazing opportunity for learning, collaborating, discovering, and discussing.  The weekend wasn't without moments of over thinking and overload. Without a doubt the highlights of the experience were sharing, caring, crying, giggling, observing spirit, cheering determination - oh, my overflowing heart. I am beyond thankful for the time I was able to spend with the dear mamas {both near and far} who travel this journey with us every day.

when I am down and need to cry till morning
I know just where I am going
when I'm in need of sweet commiseration
to speak out loud

raise a glass to friendship and to knowing
you don't have to go alone

we'll raise our hearts to share each others burdens
on this road

with every burden I have carried
with every joy it's understood

life with you is half as hard
and twice as good

with my good news your dancing on the table
babies born to celebration

the joy of life oh what a sweet communion
shared with you

I know {our boys} are growing older
can you imagine what that will bring
it's all a mystery to me now

but this one thing
will be half as hard, and twice as good

  1. So beautiful! You know, I think for any mom, it's just so refreshing to be surrounded by women who "get" us, in the specific seasons we go through. In my struggles with postpartum depression and anxiety, there was something so comforting and freeing in fellowship with other women who have struggled in the same way. It's just good to be reminded we are not alone. So glad you had this time of renewal and have been blessed with other moms who know this road you walk on.
