Go For Gold

This giveaway is now closed.  The winner, chosen by Random.org is comment #7, Lindsay!  Enjoy!
As the 2010 Winter Olympics closed ceremonies last night the US Olympic team had 37 medals - an impressive first place ranking in the medal count.  It has been exciting to watch the athletes excel in many winter sports. Since the opening ceremonies two weeks ago, I have been experimenting with a bit of an Olympic challenge myself and I'm ready to hand out another medal for performance excellence.

While we typically use cloth diapers for our {almost} 16 month old, I was thrilled to give the new Pampers Dry Max technology a try.  They have redesigned the Cruisers diapers for higher performance.  They've made them significantly thinner (20%), yet they work better than ever.  The new material included is called Dry Max and Pampers claims it locks away wetness for up to 12 hours. The diapers have a soft outer cover for comfort, they have a tapered design, and are decorated with Sesame Street® characters.

I was impressed with how thin the diapers really were.  We saw a big difference in the way Gibson's clothes fit in comparison to his big ol' cloth diaper bum - which meant we got a little extra wear out of the 12 month jeans I thought he'd outgrown!  In all honesty, before cloth diapering our youngest we used every brand BUT Pampers. Simply because I have a difficult time with the way they smell (before they are loaded...). However, the convenience and performance of the made over editions might just help me get over my scented diaper issue.  I was pleasantly surprised at how lightweight the diapers felt when "full."  In fact, I think I left him in them up to 2 hours longer than our typical diapers because they never seemed wet.

Pampers with Dry Max officially hit store shelves in March, giving you with diapered babes a chance to try them for yourself.  However, they are also offering a reader of A List Maker's Life a redeemable coupon for a free week's supply of the all-new Cruisers with Dry Max AND a Liz Lange diaper clutch.

To be entered to win, leave a comment here!
I'd love to hear what diapers you currently use and/or what excites you about this new option.
Entry will be open to US Residents only until Friday, March 12th at 10PM EST.

Many thanks to Pampers and American Pop Digital for allowing me to participate in this trial and giveaway.  The samples they have sent were not sent with the intent to be a payment for my favorable review, instead as a chance to hear my honest opinions.

  1. I love Pampers Swaddlers when my babies are newborns. I've heard others talk about the smell but it's never bothered me. I bought some Fisher Price ones recently that I've never tried but a friend says she loves them. Once they're older, I go for the good old Target generics and switch them up every now and then with a box of Pampers, Huggies, or Luvs that's on sale. I get tired of looking at the same old patterns every day!

  2. We use Huggies Overnites at night, and what excites me about the new Pampers Cruisers with Dry Max is the fact that they're thinner yet super absorbent.

  3. I received a free sample of the new Pampers (3 diapers) in the mail and I LOVE THEM!!!! They are very absorbent and my little one who wakes wet during the night and wants to be changed (grrrr....) has had no issues with these diapers. I'm sold! :)

  4. We are a Papmers household--many different varieties of them! :)

  5. we are pampers lovers :) I'd love to win this!!!

  6. I've been using Pampers for the simple fact that it seems you get more to a package because the smaller sizes fit longer..does that make sense. They also seem to help reduce diaper rash because of the mesh-like material.
What a fun giveaway! Thanks for a great post. =)

  7. I bought the brand name with my oldest until she was 3 months old. She kept on leaking thru everything. So I tried the Target brand and no more leaks. I use the Target on both kids now. I am interested in trying these though:O) Thanks for the giveaway!!!

  8. I am in the minority. I loathe Pampers Cruisers since they removed the netting. We're now in Size 3 for A, but I was crushed to open a gigantic box to find things had changed since M wore them.

No mesh lining for breastfed babies? Not good. The smell? Horrible. The leaks? Awful. We're now trying to get through the huge box as quickly as possible so we can go back to our old standard: Target brand (Up&Up now). They do the same, if not better, and cost half as much.

I'm glad I've collected so many Rewards Points so I can redeem my 200 free Shutterfly prints. But unfortunately, Papmers and I are breaking up.

Sorry, Katie! Hope the winner is pleasantly surprised!

  9. We use Target, and Huggies because that's what they sell at Costco. My diaper loyalties are up for grabs... I don't really care what kind we use. There seem to be plenty of blow-outs no matter what kind we use!

  10. Thanks Katie!! What at great giveaway. We currently use target brand diapers, but I am game for anything!

  11. Pampers Baby Dry, Pampers only. Anything else makes my kiddos leak!!!! I love Pampers!

  12. We LOVE pampers in our house. They are all we've ever used with Jackson.

I'm excited to try out this new and improved diaper...it sounds great!

And, I can't believe you don't like the smell. I love it!

  13. Well, when Blaze was a newborn I used Swaddlers, then we went to Luvs but as he got mobile we switched to Huggies or Pampers either one but I tried these new Pampers and love them so now we are back to just Pampers! I would love to win!

  14. We actually scored a box of these the last time I bought Pampers for Mia. I didn't realize they were different until we unpacked them. WE LOVE THEM! You're very right Katie about them fitting better than the old style - Mia doesn't have quite so much of a bubble butt when she's wearing them!

  15. I'm doing this giveaway too, but I really did like the diapers and would love that clutch for the new baby :D So I'm entering yours ;)

Thanks for taking a moment to comment. I love to hear from you!
