Perfume Diaries

Imagine you're on a beach. The warm rays are beating down on you. There is nothing on the agenda for days, save for sunbathing and sleeping in. Leslie Blodgett has captured the ultimate vacation through fragrance with this intoxicating blend of creamy sensuality, dreamy florals and sexy musks. Glowing, gorgeous sun-kissed skin that just begs to be touched is at the heart of this limited-edition scent, created exclusively for Sephora.

Bare Skin, is the first fragrance from Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries, a limited edition fragrance collection created exclusively for Sephora.

Having kept journals since she was a young girl, Leslie has captured the essence of every trip she has taken through the pages of her journals. Bare Skin, the first scent in her series, is reminiscent of her experience during a trip to Mexico. “When I have an experience, I like to have a scent behind it. Bare Skin, which is what Mexico reminds me of, is the way you feel when the sun is beating down on you during the day, but then you go out at night and you’re still sizzling from the warmth of the day which mingles with the night air and the music.”

The fragrance is comprised of black pepper, freesia, anise, iris, vanilla orchid, plumeria, patchouli, sandalwood, labdanum, and musk. I appreciate the freesia, iris, vanilla orchid smells that are evident at first. These scents are easy to associate with a sunny day at the shore. However, as the perfume ages on my skin the evening tones, sandalwood and musk, become more evident.

Bare Skin gives an overall "warm" feeling, but it is more of a cozy fall warm than the sunny day at the beach I was hoping to smell. My ideal day by the sea fragrance would be soft, clean, pure, and crisp.

Although it is not my personal favorite scent, upon reading other reviews of Bare Skin, I see that it appeals to other women who truly appreciate the sensual musk. So, while you may take some stock in my review it may be necessary for you to give it a try for yourself to know if it fits your personality and fragrance preference.

Which leads to some questions:
~What are your favorite scents?
~Do you currently have an all purpose perfume or do you change it up based on the activities of the day?
~What elements are must haves in a fragrance you would choose to wear?

Bare Skin skin is available for purchase at Sephora.com and in department stores across the country.
Thank you to Sephora for sendng me a sample of Bare Skin.post signature
