We had a great Saturday full of special events & activities.

Here the highlights:

~ Meeting Katie & her family for the first time in person, after many emails & phone conversations!
~ A birthday party for our 3 year old friend Mason
~ Sunny weather
~Gibson's 1/2 Birthday!!
~A walk through downtown Holland with 2 favorite stops: the Sand Castle Toy Store & The Peanut Store

~Dancing for tourists (and friends) at the Tulip Time Craft fair
~Riding the kiddie cars at the carnival

~ Kevin prepping our lawn for new sod

Friday was fantastic too with friendly visits, fair food, and fireworks! Fun weekend!

  1. That is so awesome that you got to meet! Your kids are adorable!! Looks like alot of fun! (except prepping the lawn for new sod although my husband would think that was fun!)

  2. Wow Katie!!! I totally thought you and Katie must have gone to college together or something. I didn't realize yesterday was the first time you meet! SO FUN!!!

  3. We had so much fun meeting you too! Gibson once again looks bigger in pictures than he is in real life, he's such a cute little fellow! It was fun seeing Gavin and Anne Hope too, loved them in their Dutch outfits complete with personalized wooden shoes! It's too bad Kevin had so much work ahead of him that day!
I see you went to the Peanut Store, ER wanted to go there really badly when we ate across the street. She liked the Peanut guy on the sign. We didn't tempt fate since she's not supposed to eat them until after she hits three.
    How was the birthday party?

  4. Katie, Thanks for sharing the pictures! I'm so surprised that you and Katie had never met before and that you live pretty close to each other! So glad you got to meet and it was fun to see you dancing over at Katie's site. ;)

So glad you had such a great weekend!

  5. Looks like you had a great weekend! Have a great week.

  6. Hey Katie! Just to let you know, I linked you on my blog today, talking about the Tulip Time fun!

  7. I saw a lot of your pictures from this event on the other Katie's blog today. You are so talented!!! What a great event to be a part of! I think that is so wonderful that you two were able to finally meet in real life. How fun!

  8. This seems like real fun! I live in the Netherlands, but I can assure you that we do not wear these clothings daily! We dó wear cloggs, when we work in the garden or with the carwashing or so. In my neighbourhood is a protestant orthodox village where people still wear traditional clothing though. It is called the village STAPHORST. May be you like to see pictures? Than you can google them easily. The clothing is all handmade, six skirts over eachother, woolen knitted socks and some of the cloth is painted by hand by putting nails into a cork (like a flowerdesign) and diped into paint and stamped on the cloth. It is very beautiful!
    Greetings mama lieveheersbeestje.
