After several days of getting used to playing outside again in the sunny, spring weather yesterday's torrential rains were a bit of a disappointment. With a bit of quick thinking we pulled out some classic rainy day distraction activities.
Here are some of our rainy day kid friendly favorites:
~Baking - we made my great grandma's Oatmeal Crispies recipe
~Legos - fire trucks were the creations of choice
~Playdough - made more little insects with pipe cleaners and dough
~Books, Books, Books
~Blanket Forts
~Splish, Splash and play in the tub - just for the fun of it!
~Stickers - we practiced writing names on long sheets of paper & used stickers to cover the lines

Ex. P with pennies & princess & E with Easter eggs and flowers (looks like a few H-hands snuck their way over too)
What do your kids like to do on a rainy day?
How about you?

We snuggle up and watch a fun movie and make fun treats. Lilly and Patrick made Jell-O jigglers and cut them with many different cookie cutters. She is so proud!
ReplyDeleteIt would be good for me to make a rainy day list...and remember to look at it when those days come!
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in Kid Friendly Friday - have a fun weekend!
Where were you when I needed you 2 days ago!? Now the sun is out and we're enjoying a couple days of nice Spring weather! I like the idea Sarah mentioned of having a list of rainy day activities handy. Not sure why I can't remember it on the spot without a list, but I just do better with lists I guess! Sound familiar?? ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend!
