Saturday Salads

Welcome to the first edition of Saturday Salads! I am looking forward to lots of great new salad recipes to try this spring & summer.

Kevin's Favorite Taco Salad :

1 lb. ground beef (browned, drained & cooled)
1 pkg taco seasoning (save 1 tsp. for dressing)
1 medium head of lettuce (rinsed & chopped)
1 can kidney beans
4 medium tomatoes
8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese

8 oz. Thousand Island Dressing
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. taco seasoning
1 tsp. taco sauce

Layer all of the ingredients in a large bowl. Refridgerate until serving. Before serving, add dressing and 1 bag of taco flavored chips.

  1. That looks great, I love taco salad! I don't really have a recipe to link because I usually just throw whatever veggies we have into a bowl and add dressing! But I'll be back to check out the other entries!

  4. Taco salad is a favorite for me. I'll have to try out the dressing...I never would have figured to mix all those ingredients together.

  5. YUM! I had a huge bowl of salad for lunch today. I thought it would last the two of us a couple of days but I ended up eating the whole thing! Whoops! =) I just discovered your blog today and it's fabulous! I'd love to link to your bunny project if you didn't mind!

  6. Yum! I never thought about putting kidney beans in my taco salad, but that sounds good.
